Wellfleet Pier is the place you get on line for your beach stickers. To get a sticker, bring your car registration, a valid permit from your rental property owner or manager, and about $60 for a one week permit good at all the Wellfleet public beaches.
You can also get ice cream, burgers, and fried clams, and eat them at picnic tables overlooking the water. If you're cooking dinner yourself, pick up fresh, local seafood at Mac's.
For a good time, take the kids on a fishing expedition aboard the Naviator. You can also rent sailboats at the Pier. Mayo Beach is next door, the Bookstore restaurant is across the street, and a new restaurant in the area is opening soon.
Nearby the pier are outdoor tennis courts and a basketball court.
