Griffin Island used to be a real island but after hundreds of years of shifting sands ("accretion") it is now attached to Bound Brook Island, and to Great Island via the Gut. West of Griffin Island is Duck Harbor Beach, a Cape Cod bay beach that's a great place to watch the sunset in Wellfleet.
