Chipman Cove is in Wellfleet Harbor. It's not great for swimming, but offers gorgeous sunset views. From here it's a short distance to Indian Neck Beach.
On February 4, 2009, three stranded dolphins that had wandered into Chipman's Cove were rescued by the International Fund for Animal Welfare. With help from Wellfleet Harbormaster Michael Flanagan, the dolphins were rescued along with, amazingly, a minke whale.
